The right fatty-acid ratio
Not all fats are to be avoided. Mono-unsaturated fats (olive oil, avocado, hazelnut) and poly-unsaturated omega 3 (salmon, sardine, walnuts, flax seeds) are protective. Saturated fats (butter, cured meats, red meat) are to be limited but not banned. Trans fats (hydrogenated margarines, industrial frying) are to be avoided strictly.
The Mediterranean method in 1 minute
PREDIMED study, 2013: a Mediterranean diet with olive oil or nuts cut the risk of a major cardiovascular event by 30 % over 5 years. Base: fruit, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, fish twice a week, olive oil, nuts. In moderation: poultry, eggs, dairy. Rarely: red meat, added sugars.
Not a medical device
The app does not replace your doctor or your cardiologist. It complements. Diagnosis, drug treatment (statins, ezetimibe, fibrates), and clinical follow-up (quarterly lipid panel, ECG) remain their domain. You can export your log as an encrypted PDF.
The fasted weigh-in, in the morning
If you weigh yourself as part of cholesterol follow-up, do it in the morning upon waking, fasted (06:30-08:00). Blood panels are also done fasted, the same logic of a stable, reproducible measurement.
