01What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, mobile, tablet) by the site you visit. It serves to store limited information: language preferences, authentication state, technical identifiers.
Cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB) are governed by article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC and CNIL deliberation no. 2020-091 of 17 September 2020. The GDPR applies in addition when a cookie allows a user to be identified.
02Our approach
Budday takes a minimalist and transparent approach to cookies:
- No advertising or commercial profiling cookies. Ever.
- Audience measurement only with your consent. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only after your explicit consent. Nothing is set before.
- Essential cookies only active by default. The rest requires your explicit consent.
- Non-intrusive consent banner, compliant with 2020 CNIL recommendations (Accept all / Reject all buttons with equivalent visual weight, no pre-ticked boxes except essential cookies).

05Manage my preferences
You can also manage cookies via your browser settings:
Note: refusing essential cookies via your browser may prevent Budday from working correctly (unable to log in, session loss). Other categories can be refused without impact on Service use.
06Lifetime
In line with CNIL recommendations (deliberation 2020-091):
- Session cookies: deleted on browser close
- Persistent essential cookies: 13 months maximum (renewed at each consent / activity)
- Analytics / preferences cookies: 13 months maximum, never more
- Cookie banner: we ask for your consent again every 13 months or if we add a new category
07GA4 + consent mode v2
We use Google Analytics 4 (audience measurement) and Microsoft Clarity (usage analysis). Both run in Consent Mode v2 and load only after you consent to the "audience measurement" category:
- ad_storage = denied: never enabled (no advertising)
- analytics_storage = denied by default, set to granted only if you accept
- ad_user_data = denied and ad_personalization = denied, never enabled
- No request to Google or Microsoft until you have given your consent
- Any transfer to US servers is governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses + the EU-US Data Privacy Framework
The goal is audience measurement, with no advertising profiling. The cookie banner asks for your consent explicitly, revocable at any time via "Manage my cookies".
